YSFlight Community Edition (YSCE) is an in-development rework of YSFlight Simulator being developed by the community of YSFlight Headquarters. The project began in earnest in August 2022 when, on the request of YSFHQ staff member waspe414, YSFlight creator Soji Yamakawa officially turned the simulator open-source by uploading its source code to his Github. YSCE is a community-driven effort aimed at fixing bugs, improving optimization, and redesigning many of the simulator's mechanics.
The project is being carried out by the YSCE Development Committee (YSCEDC), a small group of developers and consultants from the YSFHQ community, with the future goal of releasing a newly-overhauled YSFlight on Steam.
