Gunny (1952-2021) was a YSFlight pilot and community member recognized for his modding work, as a prolific creator of both scenery and aircraft. A real-life former pilot and Marine Corps veteran, Gunny was known throughout YSFlight Headquarters as one of the YSFlight player base's most senior members, and often played a significant part in the social side of the community. In 2019, a large complete archive of the many addons he had collected over the years, including his own creations, was recovered and posted to YSFHQ with the help of wingzfan99.
In July 2021, on what would have been his 69th birthday, it was discovered and confirmed by members of YSFHQ that Gunny had passed away the month prior at the age of 68; the connection was made through Gunny's own forum signature, a copy of his Marine Corps patch.
